UPDATE - Larson Wildland Fire Posted: 10 Jun 2007 09:13 PM CDT Larson Wildland Fire Incident Information Announcements News Pictures Maps INCIDENT UPDATED TODAY Larson Fire jumps U.S. Highway 395 on June 5, 2007 Credit: Bureau of Land Management view pictures || view maps Summary The Larson Fire is under the jurisdiction of the Bureau of Land Management (BLM), Bishop Field Office (California), but the information on this Inciweb site is being posted under the unit heading of the BLM-Carson City Field Office (Nevada) because the Inciweb Administrator for the BLM in Carson City has also been the Lead Fire Information Officer for the Lassen Fire, and it also posting incident data at http://www.sierrafront.net/ The Larson Fire is currently 96% contained at 1,080 acres. Full containment is expected today (6/10). The Great Basin National Type I Incident Management Team (Muir) took over the incident at 0600 on 6/7 from the Sierra Front Type II Incident Management Team (Sheuerman). The Great Basin National Type 1 Incident Management Team plans to transfer command to a Type 3 teamon Monday June 11 at 0600. Fire Crews will continue to improve and hold existing lines and mop-up all smokes that are safely accessible.The release of excess resources will continue today.Long term rehabilitation is being assessed by a Burned Area Emergency Response (BAER) Team. Remaining resources include fivefire engines,four handcrews, andtwo helicopters (total of 180 personnel). Costs to date are estimated at $2.2 million. Two outbuildings have been reported destroyed. No injuries have been reported at this time. The Incident Command Post is set up at 1574 Larson Lane in Walker.
