CA-PNF-Antelope Complex - LIGHTNING COMPLEX

North Ops reports the Antelope Complex at 3000 acres this morning this complex consists of At least ten lightning caused Fires as reported on the PNF, TNF and TMU.
The Plumas has ordered a Type 2 Team for numerous fires on the forest.

Update 0630 hrs on Plumas Fires, Antelope complex / Wheeler fire 3000 acs, additional fires 1 for 50 acs. and 25 acs. 10 to 15 total fires not all staffed. Larry Craggs Type 2 team is on board.

Location: Plumas National Forest - Antelope Lake Recreational Area -12 airmiles northeast of Taylorsville and 5-6 airmiles south of Antelope Lake
Lat: 40° 5´ 57" Long: 120° 39´ 14"

Evacuations possible - Janesville, Antelope Lake Campgrounds have been evacuated. Boatramp closed. Franks Valley residents evacuated.

PLUMAS FOREST News Release:
A series of lightning strikes late in the afternoon on Thursday, July 5, are responsible for starting over a dozen fires on the Plumas National Forest in northeastern California.
Collectively called the Antelope Complex, the largest of the fires is dubbed the Wheeler Fire, pegged at 1,000 acres late Thursday night. The remaining fires are small.
The Antelope Complex is approximately 12 airmiles northeast of Taylorsville and 5-6 airmiles south of Antelope Lake.
Campgrounds in the Antelope Lake area and some scattered summer residences were evacuated as a precaution Thursday evening.
Forest road 29N43 is closed between Flournoy Road and Antelope Lake Dam. There are no other homes or communities threatened currently.
Additional fire fighting resources, including a Type 2 Team, are arriving to assist local firefighters.
The Wheeler Fire is expected to actively burn through the night with acreage increases expected.
Dry lightning is forecast for Friday and Saturday.
